The increasing development of information technology (IT) in general and the Internet in particular, has imposed a great task on the propagators of the pure Islam, and also the Moslem intellectuals and theologians.
Computer Research Center of Islamic Sciences (CRCIS), as one of the (Iranian) leading companies in computerizing Islamic researches, therefore, made efforts to establish Noor Network and to design Hawzah.net Website in 1998, when the Internet was introduced in Qom for the first time.
This site has been designed to:
· Provide and present the facts dealing with Islamic knowledge
· Classify the information systematically and also facilitate the access to them through the Internet tools
· Present full texts of the books and the journals dealing with Islamic knowledge
· Answer the questions posed in the field of Islamic, and especially Shiite issues
· Enable the Internet users to be in contact with Qom Islamic Seminary researchers
· Serve as an example for other seminary centers
Cooperating with a group of researchers of Qom Islamic Seminary, this site has the honor to offer one of the richest and the most inclusive sites in the field of Islam and Shi`ism.
The scholars, researchers, seminary students, the academic students in the field of Islamic knowledge and other users can get access to a wide range of articles, books, journals, and also information about Islamic centers as well as the (latest) news about researchers through visiting this website. These information have usually been collected from reliable journals and books related to the Islamic Seminary, and then they have been classified. In doing this the scientific reputation of the authors and also the scientific value of their works have highly been taken into consideration. Therefore, different parts of this website have been mainly based on the viewpoints of such great scholars as Martyr Ayatollah Motahhari and Allamah Tabataba’i, and developed by using the books of other distinguished academic or seminary personalities, wherever needed.
It was planned to present the subjects of this website in two stages:
In the first stage they were prepared for common users interested in Islamic knowledge so that this material can pave the way for those who study or research with different scientific inclinations. So we mainly used the books of contemporary authors in the field of analytical subjects and incorporating modern style of writing.
In the second stage the authentic references will be presented, and specialized discussions of Islamic knowledge will be our main objectives.
Islamic knowledge and culture options
By supplying its visitors in this part with hundreds of good articles on various subjects – which are improving quantitatively and qualitatively – Hawzah.net Website has decided to present the most comprehensive Islamic information bank on the world wide web, to those who are interested in Islamic knowledge all the world over.
In order to enable the visitors to get convenient access to the required Islamic issues, they have been classified into 14 main categories, which are in Farsi and will be rendered into Arabic and English soon. After choosing their required topics, the visitors can easily find them through the diagram.
As mentioned earlier, the articles of this part have mostly been selected from the reliable books and scholarly papers written by scholars and experts in Islamic fields.

“Questions and Answers” is one of the most active parts of this site. It answers the questions of individuals, centers, institutes, and journals in different fields (the Qur’an, beliefs, ethics, hadith, history of Islam, social problems, etc), with the cooperation of a group of distinguished researchers of Qom Islamic Seminary.
Emailing their questions to this site, the visitors from all over the world can receive their proper answers.
Thousands of questions in different fields and languages (including Farsi, Arabic, English, French, Turkish) have been answered so far. These questions and answers are to be presented in a separate part after the necessary edition and classification.
